Medical Student Uses VisualDx to Explain Teen's Gynecomastia

9968_gynecomastia.jpgAri H., a family medicine student at the New York Institute of Technology College of Osteopathic Medicine (NYITCOM) turned to VisualDx to understand his teen patient's diagnosis and offer support.

"12 year old male presented to the clinic with acute onset of gynecomastia. Patient was not on any medication. The swelling of his right breast was described as painful and warm to the touch and was interfering with his social life and his hobby of soccer. I used the differential diagnosis feature of the app and came to the conclusion that the gynecomastia was associated with puberty and should remit as his body continues to mature naturally."
