Meet the Team: Tom

Role:  I’m one of four medical research librarians on our team.

Hometown: Utica, NY

How long have you been with VisualDx? I’ll be coming up on a year and a half this spring.

Things you’ll find in my workspace/office: Dog treats, plenty of coffee, my backpack (containing a camera, a book, and snacks), and a photo of my wife and cat.

If you could host a dinner party with anyone in the world, living or dead, what three people would you invite? Anthony Bourdain, Conan O’Brien, and David Byrne.

Recent great read: Maybe more epic than great, but “The Stand” by Stephen King.

Guilty pleasure: Reading the Missed Connections section on Craigslist.

Favorite place on earth: Our family cabin in Vermont.

Currently binge-watching: “The Leftovers” on HBO. If you haven’t seen this show, you seriously need to.

First job: Cashier and bagger at my local grocery store.

Pet peeve: Dirty dishes left out on the counter.

Favorite way to unwind: I have to stay active—cycling, running, and hockey are my go-to de-stressors. I also love listening to music and cooking (often at the same time).

Favorite part about working at VisualDx: I love that the work is important. All of the decisions we make and work we put in as a team affect people in the real world. Also, who wouldn’t like having dogs in the office?

VisualDx wouldn’t be possible without a talented and committed team of people working behind the scenes. This is our way of introducing and celebrating the unique people behind VisualDx.
