Synopsis
Also known as a skin tag, these benign growths of unknown etiology usually occur in intertriginous areas. They are usually asymptomatic but can become irritated or inflamed by friction. They can become painful and bleed if there is trauma or shearing force. In the perianal area, they can be a sign of intestinal polyps.
