Synopsis

Cardiac dysrhythmia originating in the atrioventricular junction with a normal heart rate, characterized by an ECG finding of retrograde P waves which may be obscured by or may follow the QRS complexes. Findings include arrhythmia and palpitations. Associated conditions include coronary artery disease, digitalis toxicity, diphtheria, ischemia, Lyme disease, myocarditis, and rheumatic fever; also associated with cardiac surgery.
