Synopsis

Coronary artery segments that transverse the myocardium instead of coursing through the epicardial fat. A congenital coronary artery anomaly. The exact depth of the vessel in the myocardium may determine the physiological significance of these anatomical variants. Findings include presyncope, syncope, and chest pain. Associated with coronary artery disease and sudden cardiac death.
