Mononeuritis multiplex is a sensory and motor peripheral neuropathy that affects 2 or more noncontiguous nerve areas. The neuropathy is initially asymmetric, but may become symmetric as it progresses. Symptoms include burning or aching pain, numbness, tingling, and/or weakness.

It is associated with several diseases including diabetes, vasculitis, amyloidosis, sarcoidosis, lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, cryoglobulinemia, human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), hepatitis B and hepatitis C, leprosy, and Lyme disease, among others. It most often occurs in the setting of vasculitis. Prognosis varies, and full recovery is possible if the cause is discovered and treated early.
