Any tumor in the pituitary gland can also affect hormone production. Signs and symptoms include vision loss, blurry vision, diplopia, headaches, rhinorrhea, fatigue, nausea, depression, sexual dysfunction, inappropriate galactorrhea, menstrual changes, and infertility. Many affected patients remain asymptomatic.
Surgery to remove the tumor is often required.
