Renovascular hypertension is a secondary form of hypertension that results from renal artery stenosis. Low blood flow to the kidneys leads to renin secretion, which eventually leads to increased production of angiotensin II. This condition is typically asymptomatic. Consider it in patients with sudden-onset or worsening hypertension that does not respond to medication. Page kidneys can be a rare cause of hypertension.
