Traumatic iritis is intraocular inflammation confined to the anterior chamber of the eye, specifically occurring after trauma to the eye or orbit. It is part of a broader spectrum of conditions commonly referred to as anterior uveitis. It typically starts within 3 days of the orbital or ocular trauma.

Typical symptoms include:

• Photophobia, especially with miosis, and pain in the traumatized eye when light is shined in either eye
• Dull or aching pain
• Tearing
• Visual disturbances / floaters
• Decreased visual acuity
