Leukemia cutis (LC) is the infiltration of the epidermis, dermis, and/or subcutis by a malignant proliferation of leukocytes. LC represents an extramedullary manifestation of leukemia that is often associated with a poor prognosis. Although LC may occur with any subtype of leukemia, it is most frequently associated with acute myeloid leukemia (AML).

Heterogenous in its presentation, LC may present prior to, simultaneously with, or following the diagnosis of the systemic leukemia. Clinical features can be protean in nature, with several distinct morphologies described in the literature.
