Argyria refers to the deposition of silver or silver-containing compounds within tissue(s). Argyria may occur locally due to direct contact with silver-containing materials, or as a generalized phenomenon when there is systemic dissemination of the silver. The features of argyria become apparent from 6 months to several years following initial exposure to the product containing silver.
