Rheumatoid neutrophilic dermatitis is a cutaneous manifestation of rheumatoid arthritis. It presents as symmetrically distributed asymptomatic papules, nodules, plaques, urticarial lesions, or palpable purpura on the extensor aspects of the extremities. The pathogenesis is not well understood, but it is thought to be mediated by immune complex deposition. The lesions may koebnerize with trauma.

While it is more commonly reported in patients with chronic severe seropositive rheumatoid arthritis, it has also been reported in patients with seronegative rheumatoid arthritis. It is more common in middle-aged females.
