Wendemagegn Enbiale
Wendemagegn Enbiale is a physician by training and professor of dermatovenerology in Bahir dar University. He has a Master’s in Public Health and a Ph.D. in Global Health and dermatology. Prof. Wendemagegn has been involved in outbreak management, community-based research, operational research, and clinical trials and he has authored and co-authored about 38 papers published in peer-reviewed journals (focused on NTDs) and book chapters.
Prof. Wendemagegn is an alumnus of the TDR lead Structured Operational Research and Training IniTiative (SORT IT) and facilitated operational research training on antimicrobial resistance and NTDs for South East Asia and Africa since 2019. He is an advisory council for the International Alliance for the Control of Scabies (IACS), Climate Change Committee for the International Society of Dermatology, International Alliance for Global Health Dermatology (GLODERM) and Amref Ethiopia.
Since November 2020, Prof. Wendemagegn has been involved in WHO Target Product Profiles (TPPs) development. He is also serving as a WHO Strategic and Technical Advisory Group for Neglected Tropical Diseases (STAG-NTDs) and vice-chair of the national NTD Research Advisory Committee for the Ethiopian Ministry of Health (MOH). Currently he is also the site principal investigator for the EDCTP-funded clinical trial on STH (ALIVE) and ITM Antwerp-funded clinical trials on COVID-19 (ANTICOV).
