A 14-year-old boy living in New York City was brought to urgent care by his parents complaining of a scattered rash of smooth papules, an eschar, and a fever. The symptoms had all appeared over the last few days. His parents said they hoped to move soon out of living conditions that were not very good. Their apartment had a number of mice and insects that they couldn’t get the landlord to get rid of.
