Vaseline has created See my Skin, a new online resource for people of color using technology developed by VisualDx that allows users to search skin conditions and connect with dermatologists more experienced in treating Black and brown skin.
VisualDx CEO Art Papier, MD, was interviewed about the need for equitable resources and company’s involvement in the initiative via its API technology and image collection.
The highlights:
- Only 6% of the images of rashes in internet resources depict dark skin.
- VisualDx, based in Rochester, has developed one of the largest collections of medical images in the world.
