Our guest presenter: Ann Marie Hart, PhD, FNP-BC, FAANP

Diagnostic decision-making is an advanced skill that can overwhelm students and new clinicians and challenge experienced clinicians. The 5+ diagnostic decision-making process was developed to help students develop competence and confidence in their diagnostic-reasoning skills. Use of the 5+ step process has helped numerous students understand the differential diagnosis process and make accurate diagnoses. In addition, graduates share that the 5+ step process becomes embedded in their clinical practice and is especially helpful whenever they are experiencing a new complaint or diagnostic conundrum. This presentation will describe the 5+ step decision-making process and share strategies for teaching the process to students.

Following the presentation, VisualDx will host a fun, interactive Kahoot quiz. Kahoot is a free app available in both the App Store and Google Play. Be sure to download the app prior to the event.
