“As a student, this app allows for us to access many resources and apply much of our clinical knowledge to real life situations. Recently, we learned about gout. In clinical this summer, we had a patient come into the pharmacy that presented with gout. He was having a difficult time with the medication he was provided so we used the app to assist us. We confirmed the diagnosis of gout on VisualDx and also contacted the prescriber for recent levels. We discussed a change in therapy for the patient and provided more information for the patient. This app allowed me as a student to identify more options for the patient and review the images and symptoms of the disease. This application also allowed our pharmacy to act as a vital part of the healthcare team. We provided patient-centered care for our patient and many others with the use of VisualDx.
