VisualDx Guides Team to Accurate Psoriatic Diagnosis & Changes Initial Tx Plan

Jennifer L., a Brown University dermatology resident, writes about how her team used VisualDx to first find the cause of her patient’s psoriasis (which they thought was AGEP), then expand the patient’s differential to arrive at the correct psoriatic diagnosis and properly treat the condition.

“There was patient who presented with pustules that involves her palms, soles, trunk, and extremities after starting a medication. We thought the diagnosis was agep clinically. With VisualDx, we were able to highlight the most likely culprits, which in this case was likely ranitidine. Also, it assisted us with the ddx which included pustular psoriasis and made us think even more carefully about tx options prior to initiating steroids for agep, as this would not be used for pustular psoriasis typically.”
