What is this fleshy growth in this woman’s eye? – Let’s Diagnose

 

A 66-year-old woman presented to the doctor concerned after noticing a fleshy growth that had appeared on her left eye within the last few weeks. The patient reported that she had experienced xerophthalmia, photophobia, and eye burning. On examination, symblepharon, conjunctival injection and scarring were detected. She reported no recent trauma or chemical exposures and had no history of ophthalmologic conditions. The patient had no systemic symptoms and appeared well.
