Student Figures Out Baby’s Misdiagnosed Diaper Rash Using VisualDx

Victoria, a dermatology student, used VisualDx to expand the differential for a young patient’s rash which included the correct diagnosis, after the patient was misdiagnosed twice.

“I have a young patient with what we thought to be diaper rash. The patient was treated accordingly but nothing worked. The patient was then treated for fungal believing it may be due to moisture. That treatment did not work. I then turned to VisualDx and entered what was going on and had possibilities of eczema pop up. After reading more into detail about the situation and treatments on VisualDx along with photos I treated the patient for eczema and the patient resolved the dermatitis within days after battling this issue for 2 months.”
