Accessing VisualDx

I want VisualDx Mobile (iPhone, iPad, Android devices) top

Institutional subscriber:

  1. Launch VisualDx at your institution and click “Get our free app... Learn how" (center of VisualDx homepage) or "Get VisualDx Mobile" (top right of page).
  2. Create your personal username and password as instructed.
  3. Once you have a username and password, you can download the free VisualDx Mobile app on your mobile device from the iTunes Store or from Google Play.
  4. Launch the VisualDx app from your device and sign in using the username and password you created.

Individual subscriber:

  1. Download the free VisualDx Mobile app on your mobile device from the iTunes Store or from Google Play.
  2. Launch the VisualDx app from your device and sign in using your current VisualDx username and password.

I forgot my username or password top

Institutional subscriber:

  • If you are an institutional subscriber, you may not need a username and password. Contact your IT department, or contact us for help.

Individual subscriber:

  • What is my username? – Your username is the e-mail address that you used when you signed up for a VisualDx account.
  • I forgot my password – Enter your e-mail address here, and we will send you a new password. You may then log in and customize your password if desired.

How do I change my password? top

  • You do not have this option.

Individual subscriber:

  • Sign in to VisualDx using your username and current password. Click “My Account” and follow the on-screen instructions to change your password.

When I try to log in, I get an error message top

Institutional subscriber:

  • Contact your IT department, or contact us for help. Note: If you are an institutional subscriber trying to access VisualDx Mobile (for iPhone, iPad, or Android device), you must first set up a mobile account from your institution's VisualDx homepage before downloading the app on your mobile device.

How do I redeem a product or discount key? top

Institutional subscriber:

  • You do not have this option.

Individual subscriber:

  • Start your VisualDx subscription by entering a product or discount key. Note: Each product key can only be activated once.
  • VisualDx Essential Dermatology book purchasers: If you accidentally erased your product key while scratching off the silver coating on the inside of the book cover, contact us for help.
  • On occasion, a partner organization may inadvertently distribute the same product key to more than one individual. If this has occurred, contact them to request another product key.

How do I obtain a receipt? top

Individual subscriber:

  • Renewable subscriptions – Sign in to VisualDx using your username and current password. Click “My Account,” and under the Account section, click “view payment history.” Click “print” to print the invoice.
  • Subscriptions purchased with a product key, using PayPal, or through the iTunes Store or Google Play – Check your e-mail on the date you made the purchase.

How do I cancel my VisualDx subscription? top

Individual subscriber:

  • Go to My Account on the visualdx.com website and click “cancel subscription.” Follow the on-screen instructions to cancel your account.

iOS / Android trials:

  • Your trial subscription will automatically end after 30 days. No further action is needed to cancel your subscription.

iOS in-app purchased subscriptions:

  • Contact the iTunes Store.

How do I cite a VisualDx topic? top

  • Cite the VisualDx topic as a chapter in an electronic book titled VisualDx with editor Lowell A. Goldsmith. There are no page numbers, and publication year should be the current year.

How can I get CME credits for using VisualDx? top

Institutional subscriber:

Individual subscriber:

    • CME is included with all individually purchased VisualDx subscriptions. Simply use VisualDx with CME to search diagnoses or drug eruptions, or to build a differential diagnosis, and you automatically accrue potential AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™.
    • You must have an active VisualDx subscription to claim your credits and generate a CME certificate. VisualDx will store the CME credits associated with your license indefinitely.
    • If you are a physician insured by Coverys, read the Program Overview or contact Coverys to learn how to take advantage of the VisualDx CME malpractice insurance discount program.
