Meet the Team: Alex

Meet Alex

Role: Software engineer III on product team

Hometown: Cheektowaga, NY

How long have you been with VisualDx? Since late November 2019.

Describe your typical workday: A typical workday includes looking over our backlog of work and communicating with teammates to make sure those tasks are prioritized and well understood amongst the team.  Also actually working on completing those tasks, as well as helping review other teammates’ work.

Things you’ll find in my workspace/office: A dog (along with his bed and some toys), super noise-cancelling earbuds, and some PT tools for stretching.

If you could host a dinner party with anyone in the world, living or dead, what three people would you invite? Buffalo Bills head coach Sean McDermott, late comedian George Carlin, and late jazz saxophonist Charlie Parker.

Recent great read: “How to Be Your Dog’s Best Friend: The Classic Training Manual for Dog Owners” (Revised & Updated Edition) by Monks of New Skete.

Guilty pleasure: My wife got me really hooked on “Riverdale” about two years ago and I still stay up to date on every episode.

Favorite place on earth: My wife’s family’s cabin in Jefferson County.

Currently binge-watching: “The Mandalorian”

Favorite quote: “If you really want to do something, you’ll find a way. If you don’t, you’ll find an excuse.”

First job: Youth soccer coach for the Cheektowaga Soccer Club.

Pet peeve: When people squeeze toothpaste from the middle of the tube.

Favorite way to unwind: Video games with my friends.

What’s something you want to do in the next year that you’ve never done before? Alpine skiing

Favorite part about working at VisualDx: I love the work/life balance that our office culture promotes. Also, being able to bring my dog to work every day is pretty awesome.

VisualDx wouldn’t be possible without a talented and committed team of people working behind the scenes. This is our way of introducing and celebrating the unique people behind VisualDx.
